Anyone who has ever been in one of my classes can tell you that I tend (when the occasion presents itself) to expatiate a great deal on a political, social, or community issue of the day. Generally, my aim is to get students to become more concerned about things about which they should be concerned. Usually, I end up reaffirming everyone’s suspicion that I truly am an arrogant, condescending pedagogue who loves to hear the sound of his own voice. Be that as it may, “Issues” are issues and it might do us all some good to have a forum where more than one voice is heard. So I wholeheartedly encourage you to respond to any “issue” I bring up for discussion. Comments matter.
