“Courses” are session-long instructional classes that promote each student’s ability and confidence to take standardized tests and undertake academic challenges.
Courses are designed to introduce students to new curriculum material, prepare students for future academic endeavors, or review instruction that students have already received.

Literacy Advancement Mathematics Proficiency
LAMP courses enhance children’s four communication skills (speaking, listening, reading, and writing) and develop their mathematical abilities in order to prepare them for a lifetime of learning.

Advanced Reading and Writing
Courses designed to develop the essential skills that students will need not only to excel in school but also to build their ability to think critically.
♦ Recommended for Grades 7 – 9
Math for Junior High School and High School
Subject-specific classes that introduce and/or reaffirm the math course students will take in school.
Courses: Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus

High School Science Courses
are subject-specific classes that introduce and/or reaffirm the science course students will take in school.
Courses: Intro Biology, Intro Chemistry, Intro Physics, Bergen Academy Advance Science Classes

High School Admission Test Prep
Test-specific classes that prepare students for admission into private, boarding, specialized, or magnet high schools.
Courses: SSAT & ISEE (for private or boarding schools), Hunter High School (for NYC 5th and 6th graders), SHSAT (for NYC Specialized High Schools), Bergen County Academies (for NJ magnet school)

SAT Integrated Reading and Writing
A comprehensive course that focuses primarily on the SAT’s Critical Reading and Writing sections. This course entails vocabulary and grammar review, sentence completions and reading comprehension practice, and essay writing. This course can also be used to prepare for the PSAT or ACT.

SAT Reading and Writing Recitation
Supplementary small-group classes strongly recommended for students who need or want additional practice in critical reading and writing practice-based instruction.

SAT Math
A comprehensive math course that covers arithmetic, operations, algebra I & II, functions, geometry, statistics, probability, and data analysis—the math topics that appear on standardized tests such as the SAT, PSAT, and ACT.

SAT Test Review
Weekly courses for students who need more test-taking practice than lecture and want to prepare for a specific upcoming SAT Students can select from: Reading, Writing, and/or Math

SAT Subject Test Review
Review-based preparatory courses for the SAT Subject Tests
Courses: Math Level 1, Math Level 2, Biology E/M, Chemistry, Physics, Literature, U.S. History, World History, Italian, Spanish

TOEFL Prep
Prepares students for both the iBT (Internet-based Test) and PBT (Paper-based Test). Emphasis is placed on the reading, listening, speaking, and writing abilities needed for the test.
♦ Recommended for Students who are required to demonstrate English-language skills to colleges
AP Test Prep
AP Test Prep courses provide both introductory and review classes for students planning to take AP Tests in May.
Courses: Biology, Calculus AB, Calculus BC, Chemistry, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, English Language, English Literature, European History, Music Theory, Physics B , Physics C, Psychology, Spanish, Statistics, U.S. Government & Politics, U.S. History, World History
